April 2007

The short version:
1. Hana is still looking for another teaching position
2. We went to Cherokee, NC for an MTW training last weekend
3. Three weeks and counting!

And the long…
Hana was informed about a month ago that her school needed to cut 10 teachers. As per usual with teaching positions, those who have been there the least amount of time are the first to be cut. So, she has been busy looking for another teaching position in the area. She’s excited about getting a new job, but not so excited about going through the motions that are required to do so; resumes, interviews, and the like. We’re both eager to see where God has planned for her to end up working.

Last week at this time Hana and I were listening to a great sermon/lecture about short-term missions. We attended a training session, hosted by MTW, to begin preparing to lead 15 high school students to Cherokee, North Carolina in late July. We’ll be there for a week, during which, we’ll be running VBS (Vacation Bible School) for some kids at a youth center, and also spending some time at a senior center. We’re really exited to go! And according to MTW, the Cherokee people are excited for us to come.

May 11th is the last day of classes, and May 18th is the paper deadline at RTS. I can’t believe how fast this semester has gone! God has been quite merciful in the way that He has provided me with enough time to get everything done. I’m not saying that I’m up to date with all my work, but I’m not so far behind that I can’t get everything done before it’s too late. This summer I’m taking 3 classes and I’ll also be working more at church. We’re going to take a trip to MN, we’re going to camp with the youth group, and we’ll be leading the missions trip to Cherokee, NC. Apparently the summer will go fast as well.

If you’d like to pray for us; please ask the Lord to give Hana strength to get through her job hunt, ask for a blessing on our missions trip preparation, and ask that He will continue to sustain me as I finish this semester. Thanks for checkin’ in on us!

God bless,
